In L.O.T.E [Language Other Than English] which is Japanese, we have been preparing a project lately which we performed alone, in pairs, or in threes. We chose a Japanese topic such as food, culture, clothes, traditions etc. Then we researched the topic, put it in our own words and presented our projects to the class. Some students made posters or short books. Others made speeches and poems or other ways in which they presented them.
The audience learnt a lot from the presentations and had fun watching them. These are some things we learned:
1. The Japanese wore clothes depending on the season they were currently in. In summer they wore orange, red, yellow and other earthy colours with light fabric like cotton. In winter it was heavy materials that were blue sorts of colours.
2. There was a special dance/routine that Japanese sumo wrestlers performed before the fight. It was complicated, quite long and had lots of stomping and heavy movements.
There was heaps more information that we learned and it was a very fun, educational session of Japanese where we learned language, culture and traditions.
